Concert in the conservatory of Tambov

Conservatory of Tambov   &   Sergei Rachmaninov (°01-04-1873 - †28-03-1943)
Sergei Rachmaninov spent each summer on his estate Ivanovka In Tambov to compose. The conservatory there is named after him. Every year his birthday is commemorated on the 1st of april with a concert in the Rachmaninov Institute.

I was there 2 years ago and gaved there a masterclass and visited Ivanovka. This year I'll also perform on this commemoration concert and I will play amongst others Het Wielewaalt en 't Leeuwerkt by Lodewijk Mortelmans.
 
In the past I performed this piece very often with a lot of succes on a tour in November 1984 in Katovice (Poland), in the Rachmaninov Society in Moscow on 18-03-2000 and in Sannicandro (Italy) on 16-09-2001.

This year it will be the 12th time that I go to Russia, either as a member of the jury or as a performer.
This time my journey will be as follows : from march 26th until 30th of 2003, I will be member of the jury of the "International piano competition for young performers devoted to the memory of Felix Mendelssohn".
In the evening I'll take the nighttrain to Tambov, approximately 600 km to the south-east of Moscow.
